About me (and lots of pictures!)

Hi I’m Tanya

I am an animal lover - and have been for as long as I can remember. I have lived with dogs my entire life and in 2022 had to say goodbye to my 13 year old 3-legged pooch, Boris (featured with me on the home page). Other pets I have had include rabbits, cats, a rainbow land crab, a tarantula and a couple salamanders. I don’t have any pets at the moment, so currently I create pawsitive experiences for the pets of Rossland!

Petsitting can come in many forms, I prefer to think of what I do as Pet Care. I am happy to help with feeding, providing play time, and medicating. If your pet needs special care after surgery, an extra check in during the day, palliative care or puppy play time, I can assist with all of that. All pet sitting is done in your home for the comfort of your pets. I like to have a meet and greet before we decide if we are a good match.

For those who are in Rossland for a holiday, I can come to your hotel or BnB to watch your animals while you go for dinner, a pedal, or a cruise down the mountain. I know travelling with a pet can be challenging at times. You want them to come experience this amazing mountain area, but you’d really like to have some time without them to do less pet friendly things. I’d love to help you with that.

More of my story…

I WWOOFed on a veterinarian’s farm on Vancouver Island and helped with animals who needed extra care - alpacas, chickens, cats and dogs. From there I worked on several other farms that had goats, sheep, donkeys, and more chickens! In 2022 I was drawn to Rossland where I started working with a senior dog, Eddie, who was recovering from back surgery. I spent a wonderful summer with him through his recovery and rehabilitation while his dads worked. In getting to know Rossland, I found so many people wanting and needing help with their animals. I think there are more households here with dogs than without! All of this led me to start my little business called Rossland Pet Sitting.
